What does Acroplis mean? Acroplois means city on the hill.
Who was the seat of honour for in the front row of the theatre? The seat of honour was reserved for the hign priest of Dionysos.
Who invented scenery? A playright called sophokles invented scenery, by painting the skene.
Why would actors use a Mekhane? To be lifted up if they were playing gods or flying mythical creatures.
What was the orkhestra area in the theatre used for? It has an altar to the god and hymns were sung and danced there.
Why did actors wear masks? Actors wore masks and costumes to show which character they were from a far distance.
Who used to win most of the competitions for best playwright? The judge awarded the writers of the best play.

1) I became more confident by doing this play. I got inspired by how the people in my group and people in other groups projected their voices.
2) Describe your favorite moment from one of your scenes and explain why you think it was effective for the audience.
2) My favorite scene was the oracle scene because it was scary and it was the most effective scene for the audience because we had practiced a lot for it and that was the scene with the most chorus work.
3) Describe one moment when you used dialogue to show you character.( What exactly did you say and how did you use your volume, pace, tone and pitch.)
3) In the 2nd scene I was a guard, and when the Shepard ( Amani) approached us, one of the lines I said was ''stop right there'', I had to say it loud and kind of low pitched because I was a guard.
4) Describe one moment when you used your body to show your character effectively. ( What exactly did you do, how were you positioned, did you use an action or a gesture?)
4) In the second scene I had a stick in my hand because I was a guard and I was positioned out side of the castle, and when the shepard came I had to stop her from entering the castle.
5) What specifically could your group have improved if you did the final performance of 'Oedipus and the sphinx' again?
5) If we had to do the performance again we would have to add more lines for some characters because some of them don't talk that much in the play.
6) Any other comments about the Greek theatre unit as a whole?
I learnt a lot about Greek theaters when we were doing the unit. I especially learnt a lot about Oedipus and the sphinx.

I was playing the character of Violet, I had to look shocked because Count Olaf was going to hit Klaus in the face. I had to stand still to show that I was really shocked to see that.
- What did you do with your voice to show your character? Did you change your tone? Pitch? Pace? Volume? Accent? Describe something you said saying how you said it.I talked a little louder than I usually do to project my voice, and i had changed the tone of my voice a bit.
